Protect yourself from Theft From Motor Vehicle

Good afternoon, Hounslow Central Residents,

I trust you are well & having a good week. I have pieced together the numbers of Theft from Motor Vehicles that have been reported to us within the last 6 months around the Hounslow Central area:

March: 2

April: 2

May: 3

June: 8

July: 2

August: 3

Within these numbers of reports, 2 of the thefts involved theft of blue badges & 8 were thefts of moped number plates.

As safer neighbourhood officers, giving out crime prevention is key to keeping others safe & their belongings safe. Below I have attached some helpful information on how to keep your vehicle/belongings safe.

BLUE BADGE HOLDERS - To help prevent theft of blue badges, you can look to purchase holders which come as a case & lock to your steering wheel. This makes it harder & slower for individuals to attempt to steal your blue badge. (Image attached)

ANTI-THEFT SCREW - To help prevent theft of number plates, Anti-Theft screws are a great solution as it makes it harder to steal the number plate by making it longer for the theft to occur. Whereas these individuals look for quick targets.
